For fine-dining aficionados, Horn and Cattle’s mix of rustic elegance and beautiful presentation provides guests with a truly special atmosphere. They use the best in seasonal ingredients and serve prime steakhouse favorites such as the Tomahawk ribeye and porterhouse steak alongside west mountain specialties such as elk chops and bison steak. Due to their popularity, guests are encouraged to make reservations in advance.
 
Olive B’s Big Sky Bistro is another local mainstay. Owned and operated by New England transplants, they bring interesting culinary styles and flavor combinations to their menu. If you’re an adventurous eater, you can try the Rocky Mountain elk dish, wild game bolognese, or bison steak. If not, they also serve pork chops, beef tenderloin, lobster macaroni and cheese, and other traditional favorites. 
 
For a one-of-a-kind Big Sky experience, The Montana Dinner Yurt takes guests to a secret spot in the forest to dine in a yurt. Only a snowcat sled can access this traditional tent dwelling. Here, you will be treated to a candlelit dinner. The prix-fixe three-course menu includes an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert. Guests are welcome to bring their own libations. 
 
For a social night out, Beehive Basin Brewery is a craft microbrewery with a range of beers on tap, from light and pale ales to IPAs and porters. They operate a seven-barrel brewing system designed to offer a rotation of beers. If you’re hungry, there are usually food trucks outside, or you can order food from another restaurant. 
 
Centrally located, Big Sky Town Center has additional bars and eateries, several retail shops, and all kinds of services. The town center also features The Independent, a cinema, bar, and music lounge in one. There are several wellness spas in Big Sky for those who want to relax after a long day at the slopes or just looking to pamper themselves. Sanctuary is an organic day spa offering therapeutic massages and holistic facials.
 

Things to Do

In addition to world-class skiing in the winter, there’s also dog-sledding, snowshoeing, and ice skating. In the summer, Big Sky is perfect for camping, whitewater rafting, fishing, and mountain biking. You’ll find some of the most beautiful hikes in the world, including Summit Lake and Ousel Falls.
 
The Reserve At Moonlight Basin is a Jack Nicklaus signature course for golf enthusiasts. It sits at 7,500 feet in elevation with breathtaking mountain scenery. Big Sky Golf Course & Nordic Center features an award-winning 18-hole championship course designed by the legendary Arnold Palmer. 
 
Big Sky’s annual events include Best in the West Showdown, Big Sky PBR, and Wildlands Festival. Every Thursday in the summer, the Arts Council of Big Sky hosts Music in the Mountains, an outdoor concert featuring a mix of well-known artists and up-and-coming musicians from all over the country.

Every Wednesday from June to September, the Big Sky Farmers Market has over 90 vendors selling local and regional produce, artisanal products, specialty goods, and prepared foods. During the fall, they highlight some of the best products from the harvest.
